A Marine’s final wish: Trump signs Minnesota veteran’s book, hand-delivered by Rep. Fischbach
“Your honorable service in the US armed forces and as a Moorhead police officer is worthy of every American’s admiration,” the president wrote in a letter to Brad Schenck, who is battling brain cancer.

A dying Marine’s final wish came true.
Last week, U.S. Rep. Michelle Fischbach hand-delivered a surprise to Brad Schenck at his family’s lake cabin: a copy of his memoir, “No Easy Way Out,” signed by President Donald J. Trump.
Alpha News first shared Brad’s story earlier this year: a Marine, Moorhead police officer, SWAT team member, and Air National Guard veteran who was forced into early retirement after a shocking diagnosis of brain cancer.
In the years since, Brad has undergone surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy. His health is now in steep decline, and he is receiving hospice care at home. But amid the pain, Brad found purpose.
He wrote a book.
Between treatments and hospital stays, Brad poured his story into “No Easy Way Out,” a personal reflection on his life, his service, and the lessons he wants to leave behind for his three children.

In addition to a signed copy of his book, Brad also received a letter from the president, which read:
“Dear Brad,
Melania and I are thinking about you and your family during this difficult time. Our nation is strong because of hard working patriots like you who believe in and have defended the Great American ideals of faith, family, community, and country. I know that I will never stop fighting for the America you and I cherish. Your honorable service in the US armed forces and as a Moorhead police officer is worthy of every American’s admiration. You should feel pride in the dedication to freedom you have displayed throughout your life. Our nation continues to be great due to the sacrifices made by the best among us and those who support them. We pray you find comfort in the love of your family and friends, and may you continue to be uplifted by their support and strength.
May God bless you and keep you.
Sincerely, Donald J. Trump.”
“Thank you so much,” Brad said, his voice full of emotion.
